Hinson’s buzzer-beater lifts Marshfield boys basketball past Menomonie

SUPERIOR – Alec Hinson made a layup at the buzzer to lift the Marshfield boys basketball team to a 56-54 victory over Menomonie as part of the Big Rivers-Wisconsin Valley Conference Challenge on Tuesday at Superior High School.

Adam Fravert scored 23 points as he made 8 of 16 shots from the field and was a perfect 6 of 6 at the free throw line. Hinson added 12 points and five assists, and Ethan Posteluk added 10 points, including two 3-pointers.

Nate Stanley had 27 points and nine rebounds for Menomonie (3-3).

The Tigers (4-4) will play Chippewa Falls at 11 a.m. Wednesday as the tournament concludes. The game will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
