WAUSAU – Vaughn Breit and Paul Huther each had 16 points to help the Stratford boys basketball team to another victory as it crushed Wausau Newman Catholic 72-38 on Tuesday at Newman Catholic High School.

Stratford rolled out to a 35-15 lead by halftime on its way to the 34-point win. The Tigers are now 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the Marawood Conference South Division, while Newman Catholic drops to 1-7 and 0-3 in the conference.

Stratford shot 46 percent (30 of 65) from the field, including a combined 13-for-21 from Breit and Huther.

Stratford hosts Marathon (6-1, 4-1 Marawood South) at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
