Slow start dooms Marshfield boys basketball in loss to Eau Claire North

EAU CLAIRE – Marshfield fell behind by 17 points by halftime and couldn’t recover, dropping a 74-52 decision to Eau Claire North in a nonconference game Thursday night.

The Tigers shot just 42 percent (24 of 57) and committed 16 turnovers in the loss, falling to 4-5 this season.

North (5-1) cruised out to a 39-22 lead by halftime and held on from there.

Seth Anderson continued his hot streak for Marshfield, scoring a team-high 25 points in the loss. Reed Miller added 12 points, and both had seven rebounds. Issac Meverden also had seven rebounds and six assists for the Tigers.

Marshfield is off until Jan. 2 when it hosts Rhinelander in a nonconference game.
