MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball team made quick work of Owen-Withee, needing just three innings in each game to sweep of a doubleheader on Tuesday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

The Dons won 15-0 in the opener and 18-0 in Game 2, ending both games via the 15-run rule after three innings.

Hailey Zimmermann hit a home run and drove in four, and Akosua Yeboah had two hits and scored three times for the Dons in the opener. Sam Casperson and Shelby Spata added two hits apiece in the victory. Zimmermann and Yeboah combined on a three-inning no-hitter.

In Game 2, Hailey Hargraves allowed just one hit in three innings on the mound for Columbus Catholic. Yeboah had two hits and four RBI for the Dons.

Columbus Catholic is now 13-2 overall and 9-0 in the Cloverbelt East. The Dons can clinch no worse than a share of the Cloverbelt East title with a win at home against Neillsville on Thursday. Click here to view the Cloverbelt East softball standings
