Stratford softball suffers extra-inning loss at Almond-Bancroft

ALMOND – Laney Carlton drove in Lexie Dernbach with a two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning, pushing Almond-Bancroft to a 2-1 win over Stratford in a nonconference softball game Monday at Almond-Bancroft High School.

The Tigers (7-3) tied the game in the sixth inning when Kalyn Schueller, who had led off the inning with a single, scored on an error.

The game remained tied until Almond-Bancroft (8-2) scratched out the run in the eighth.

Stratford was held to four singles in the loss.

Stratford will play at Auburndale on Tuesday in a Marawood Conference South Division game at 4:45 p.m.
