Auburndale baseball nails down home win over Nekoosa

AUBURNDALE – Aden Cherney had three hits, including a home run, and drove in two as the Auburndale baseball team downed Nekoosa 4-1 in a nonconference matchup Monday at Auburndale High School.

Caden Weinfurter earned the pitching win for the Eagles (5-1), striking out seven in four innings, and Cherney picked up the save by getting the final two outs in the seventh.

Kaden Anderson added a pair of hits in the win for Auburndale.

Auburndale will host Stratford for a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. at Auburndale High School.
