MARSHFIELD – A pair of Rib Lake pitchers held Marshfield Columbus Catholic to just four hits and a single first-inning run as the Redmen won 6-1 in a nonconference baseball game between undefeated squads on Monday at Jack Hackman Field.

Cy Becker delivered a sacrifice fly as Rib Lake starter Dominic Quednow loaded the bases with three consecutive walks to start the first inning, but the Dons would not scratch out another run.

Quednow struck out three in 3 2/3 innings and Seth Borchardt finished up by throwing the last 3 1/3 innings with five strikeouts to secure the win for Rib Lake (8-0).

Borchardt also had three hits and drove in a run, and Andrew Wudi had two singles and two RBI for Rib Lake.

The Dons (6-1) were held to four singles as they suffered their first loss of the season.
Columbus Catholic will return to Cloverbelt Conference East Division action at Neillsville on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
