Marathon launches two homers, doubles up Auburndale baseball

MARATHON – True Thurs and Tyler Underwood each smacked home runs to lead Marathon to a 4-2 win over Auburndale in a Marawood Conference South Division baseball game Friday at Marathon High School.

With the win, Marathon clinches at least a tie for the Marawood South championship as it wraps up its conference schedule at 7-1 and improves to 12-2 overall.

Blake Underwood struck out four and scattered nine hits to earn the complete-game win for the Raiders.

Blake Raab suffered the loss for Auburndale (6-5, 2-4 Marawood South) as he also went the distance, finishing with three strikeouts.

Aden Cherney had three hits and drove in a run for the Eagles.

Auburndale is back in action Saturday as it hosts Marshfield Columbus Catholic for a nonconference game starting at 11 a.m.
