Marshfield boys hockey team falls in overtime to Chequamegon/Phillips

PARK FALLS – Zachary Lemke scored 5:21 into overtime to lift Chequamegon/Phillips to a 2-1 nonconference victory over Marshfield in boys hockey action Saturday.

Jacob Lemke scored with 10 seconds to go in the second period to put the Screaming Eagles up 1-0, but Marshfield quickly tied it up.

Travis Kersten scored an unassisted goal 43 seconds into the third period to tie the game at 1-1, and it eventually went to overtime.

The Tigers fall to 5-10 with the loss, their second straight following a two-game winning streak.

Mac Alboreo had 20 saves in goal for Marshfield, while winning goalie Hailey Falk had 28 for Chequamegon/Phillips.

The Tigers play at Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday.
