Marshfield boys hockey loses in OT

STEVENS POINT – Marshfield came back from a two-goal deficit to force overtime, but lost in the extra period, dropping a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys hockey game to Stevens Point Area Senior High 3-2 on Thursday.

The Panthers (11-9-1, 7-2-1 Wisconsin Valley) jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period before the Tigers (7-14, 3-7 WVC) responded the tied the game with two goals in the second period.

Bo Howard and Schuyler Seyfert scored two minutes apart for the Tigers to tie the game midway through the period. Cole Irish assisted on both goals. David Kluball had 49 saves for Marshfield, which lost for the fourth straight time and sixth time in its last seven games.

Neither team scored in the third and SPASH was able to put the game away in overtime on a power-play goal by Matt Defresne.

Max Seiter and Michael Sinda scored goals in the first period for SPASH. Trevor Koziczkowski had 22 saves.
