Spencer girls basketball team wins third straight

AUGUSTA – Courtney Schulz and Krystal Weier each scored 10 points to lead the Spencer girls basketball team to a 41-28 win over Augusta in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game on Thursday.

The Rockets won for the third straight time and sixth time in their last seven games to improve to 10-4 overall and 8-3 in the Cloverbelt East.

Trailing 7-4 after the first quarter, the Rockets tied the game at 16-16 at halftime, then outscored the Beavers (2-13, 1-9 Cloverbelt East) 25-12 in the second half.

Schulz added nine rebounds for the Rockets, who host Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Tuesday.

Allie Nelson scored 15 of Augusta’s 28 points in the loss.
