Neillsville shuts out Columbus Catholic softball

NEILLSVILLE – Ashley Friemoth scattered five hits and tossed a five-inning complete game shutout for Neillsville in an 12-0 win over Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Monday at Neillsville High School.

Friemoth struck out two and walked one to lift the Warriors to their 11th win of the season (11-5 overall, 11-4 Cloverbelt East). Columbus wraps up its Cloverbelt East season winless at 0-16 (0-17 overall).

Miranda Dieringer, Katrina Hill, Erin Knoeck, Elizabeth Manlick and Shawna Rhodes each had singles for the Dons.

Columbus will play at WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal at Pittsville on Thursday.
