WESTON – D.C. Everest scored just before halftime and held Marshfield scoreless, winning the Wisconsin Valley Conference boys soccer game 2-0 on Tuesday at D.C. Everest Middle School.

The Tigers fall to 2-3 in WVC play, while Everest improves to 2-1. The two teams are tied with Wausau West with six points in the conference standings, three points behind Wausau East and Stevens Point.

Marshfield (2-5-2 overall) drops to 0-2-2 in its last four games, following a win against Merrill last Thursday. The Tigers are off until Sept. 13 when they host Stevens Point.

Tyler Timm scored with 2:07 left in the first half and Chue Vue scored 7:38 into the second half to provide the scoring for D.C. Everest.

“In the first 15 or 20 minutes we had three or four opportunities to score,” Marshfield coach Ron Todryk said. “One of those goes our way and the whole outcome of the gmae would have changed.

“We don’t give up and we are getting better each and every game. It’s just crucial we put in some of those scoring opportunities.”
