Marshfield remains at No. 3 in Division 2 and Stratford is at No. 7 in Division 5 in this week’s WisSports.Net State Football Coaches Poll, which was released Tuesday.

Marshfield improved to 6-0 and 4-0 in the Valley Football Association South Division with a 40-12 win over Oshkosh West last Friday.

The Tigers, who are ranked behind Waunakee and Kimberly in the Division 2 poll, hosts Wisconsin Rapids (5-1, 4-0 VFA South) on Friday at Beell Stadium. Rapids is ranked No. 12 in the Division 1 poll following a 35-9 whipping of Menasha last week. Menasha is ranked No. 11 in Division 2 and plays at Marshfield on Oct. 7.

Stratford moved to 5-1 and 5-0 in the Marawood South with a 47-18 win over Tomahawk last week. The Tigers face the monumental task of playing unbeaten Edgar, ranked No. 1 in Division 6, on Friday at Tiger Stadium in Stratford.

Edgar has won 32 straight games, including the past two Division 6 state titles. Either Edgar or Stratford has won at least a share of the Marawood title since 1983. Edgar has won the past three, with Stratford taking seven in a row before that.
