Auburndale girls basketball team blows past Northland Lutheran in second half

KRONENWETTER – Auburndale dominated the second half, outscoring Northland Lutheran 32-5, to blow past the Wildcats for a 51-17 Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball victory Friday night at Northland Lutheran High School.

Auburndale led 19-12 at halftime before exploding for a 14-2 run in the third quarter and an 18-3 advantage in the fourth to win with ease and improve to 10-4 and 6-2 in the Marawood South. The Apaches are 7-1 in their last eight games under first-year coach Liz Nagel.

Northland Lutheran falls to 2-12 and 0-8 in conference.

All 11 Apaches scored in the victory, led by Kendra Kundinger’s nine points as she made 3 of 5 shots from 3-point range. Sam Karl and Mikayla Jankowski each scored six points for Auburndale.

The Apaches host Edgar next Thursday.
