Stratford girls win second straight

STEVENS POINT – Stratford had a hot second quarter, lifting it to a convincing 49-28 win over Stevens Point Pacelli in a nonconference girls basketball game Tuesday night at Pacelli High School.

The Tigers outscored Pacelli 18-7 in the second quarter to take a 26-11 lead at halftime and cruised from there.

The win is Stratford’s second straight after a stretch in which it lost nine of 10 games, improving its record to 5-13. Pacelli falls to 2-16.

Keri Doll scored 11 points, Sara Griesbach had 10 points and eight rebounds, and Jenessa Denfeld had seven points and snared 11 rebounds for the Tigers, who play a Marawood Conference South Division game at home against Edgar on Thursday.
