Columbus Catholic girls tennis shuts out Assumption

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Marshfield Columbus Catholic swept six of seven matches in straight sets and rolled to a 7-0 win over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in a nonconference girls tennis match Tuesday.

Columbus won all four singles matches and the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches in straight sets.

Elizabeth Manlick, B.J. Kaiser, Beth Frericks and Helena Huppert won in singles for the Dons.

Columbus Catholic’s Rebecca Lamermayer and Maria Garcia won at No. 1 doubles, Katelyn Welsh and Nettie Kaiser were victorious at No. 2 doubles, and the No. 3 doubles team of Lauren Derfus and Lindsey Schultz needed three sets to win its match.

Columbus will take part in the Great Northern Conference Tournament on Thursday at Lakeland.
