Spencer volleyball cruises past Augusta

AUGUSTA – The Spencer volleyball team continued its dominance of the Cloverbelt Conference East Division with a 3-0 sweep of Augusta on Thursday night at Augusta High School.

The Rockets won 25-15, 25-14, 25-17, to improve to 5-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Augusta falls to 1-3.

Tara Matter had nine kills, Tynae Phillips had eight kills, and Paige Johnson had eight kills, three aces and seven digs for Spencer.

Marisa Johnson added three aces, Macie Weber had two blocks, Alicia Endreas had a team-high nine digs, and setter Brooke Kettleborough had 33 assists in the win for the Rockets.

“We tried some new things tonight, struggled with some and did some things really well,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “It was fun to play everyone and have them all contribute.”

Spencer will take part in the Abbotsford Tournament on Saturday and return to Cloverbelt East action Tuesday at Gilman.
