STEVENS POINT – Auburndale’s Luke Haas won the boys race and Abby Bauer took third in the girls race as each Apaches team finished fifth at the Pacelli Invitational on Saturday.
Haas won the boys race in 16:59, 8 seconds ahead of David Rosenlund of Gillett.
Jacob Hunsberger finished 11th in 17:54 to help Auburndale to fifth in the team standings.
Rosholt won the boys title with all five of its runners finishing in the top 16. Gillett was second.
Marshfield Columbus Catholic finished seventh. Jeremy Binder led the Dons, taking 30th in 18:41.
Bauer took third in the girls race, finishing in 16:43 well behind winner Emily Sether of Iola-Scandinavia (16:03) and Alyssa Niggemann of Amherst (16:25).
Emma Steines was 11th for the Apaches, running in 17:32.
Amherst won the girls team title, with Iola-Scandinavia taking second.
Alexandria Viegut finished 22nd for Columbus Catholic. The Dons entered only two runners in the event.
Auburndale hosts its annual invitational on Oct. 2 at Frey Farm in Spencer.
