Ryan Williams tosses complete game to lead Marshfield Chaparrals past Everest

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Chaparrals scored three times in the seventh inning, then held off a late rally to defeat the Everest Merchants 4-2 in amateur baseball action Wednesday at Jack Hackman Field.

The Chaparrals (2-1) led 4-0 after the three-run seventh inning before Everest finally got to pitcher Ryan Williams in the seventh.

The Merchants scored twice before Williams got out of the jam and finished off a complete-game effort. Williams scattered seven hits and struck out seven. He did not walk a batter.

San Schwanebeck was 3-for-4 with a double and Austin Littmann had two RBIs in the win for Marshfield.

The Chaparrals return to action Friday at Abbotsford.
