Marshfield Junior Legion stays hot with another doubleheader sweep

WESTON – The Marshfield Junior Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader at Rothschild-Schofield-Weston on Sunday, winning 13-4 and 10-7.

The Blue Demons are now 19-10-1 and finish the Wisconsin Valley Legion League with a 13-5 record. Marshfield has won 10 of its last 11 games heading into the regular-season finale on Monday – a doubleheader at home against Pittsville.

Caleb Alexander won the opening game, giving up one earned run and striking out six in four innings.

Matthias Gouin had three hits and Jack Donahue had a single and a double for Marshfield.

Donahue pitched the final three innings in relief and earned the victory in Game 2 for Marshfield. He struck out four and did not allow an earned run.

Alexander had four hits and three RBIS, and Jeremy Binder had a two-run single for the Blue Demons.
