Marshfield Legion loses at Plover; Junior Legion splits two with Pittsville

The Marshfield Legion baseball team lost 7-4 at Plover on Monday.

The game was make-up from a game that was rained out back in June.

Joey Mundt and Aaron Schwecke each had a single, a double and an RBI for Marshfield.

Tyler Klieforth took the loss, giving up four earned runs in six innings.

Marshfield hosts Medford for a doubleheader Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Jack Hackman Field.

The Marshfield Junior Legion split a doubleheader with Pittsville, losing 4-0 and winning 4-1.

Trevor Schwecke pitched six innings, giving up three earned runs in the loss in Game 1.

Matt Kuhlka, Cam Swanson and Matt Meyer had Marshfield’s only hits in the loss.

Jeremy Binder picked up the win in the second game, striking out eight in six innings for Marshfield (20-11-1). Nate Barofka earned the save.

Jake Brueggen and Matt Meyer each had two hits for Marshfield, and Billy Young and Sam Klein added RBI singles for the Blue Demons.

The Marshfield Junior Legion team begins regional play at home Thursday with a game against Stevens Point at 5:30 p.m.
