Stratford boys basketball drops nonconference game to Stevens Point Pacelli

STRATFORD – Stevens Point Pacelli used a 19-5 first-quarter advantage to hold off Stratford 67-54 in a nonconference boys basketball game Tuesday night at Stratford High School.

Pacelli improves to 2-1, while Stratford drops to 0-2.

Pacelli pushed its lead to 39-20 by halftime. Stratford outscored the Cardinals 24-17 in the fourth quarter but couldn’t cut into Pacellli’s double-digit lead.

Jeremiah Hubing was 6 of 7 from the field and scored 15 points to lead Stratford. Michael Bargender and A.J. Strasser added eight points each.

The Tigers open their Marawood Conference South Division schedule Thursday at home against Marathon.
