UW-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team edges UW-Richland

MARSHFIELD – Cale Weiler scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out five assists to lead the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team to a 69-64 win over UW-Richland on Monday at the Marauder Gym.

Marshfield shot just 32 percent (24 of 74) and only made 55.6 percent from the free throw line (15 of 27), but did outscore the Roadrunners 15-5 at the line to provide the difference.

Greg Belter scored a season-high 15 points and Markus Kleifgen added 13 points and 22 rebounds for the Marauders.

UW-Marshfield/Wood County hosts UW-Baraboo at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
