LOYAL – Loyal forced 27 turnovers and outshot Spencer 16-7 from the free throw line in a 64-29 win over the Rockets in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Friday night at Loyal High School.
Loyal had a 15-4 run in the first quarter and ended the game by outscoring the Rockets 20-6 in the fourth quarter.
The Rockets made just 10 of 32 shots from the field and were hampered by the 27 turnovers.
Abby Varsho had six points and six rebounds, and Brooke Kettleborough also scored six points for the Rockets (2-3, 1-3 Cloverbelt East).
Karsyn Rueth had 22 points and Morgan Reinwand added 14 points for Loyal (5-1, 4-1 Cloverbelt East).
Spencer is off until Jan. 3 when it hosts Gilman.
