Marshfield boys basketball improves to 3-1 in Wisconsin Valley with win at Wausau East

WAUSAU – Marshfield drilled 10 3-pointers in the first half and went on to a 56-42 win over Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys basketball game Friday night at Wausau East High School.

Luke Zuiker had 16 points and Alex Strege scored 15 for the Tigers, who improve to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference after their second straight win.

Wausau East drops to 3-4 and 0-3 in the WVC.

Marshfield finished 12 of 23 from 3-point range and 22 of 42 overall from the field. Strege was 5 of 6 and Zuiker 4 of 6 on 3-pointers.

Jeff Allison added eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers, five rebounds and five assists for the Tigers.

Marshfield will be back in action with games in the Wisconsin Valley Conference-Big Rivers Conference Challenge at Menomonie High School on Dec. 27 and 28. The Tigers will play Hudson next Friday and Menomonie on Saturday.
