Dons tennis handles Phillips

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys tennis team won all but the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles matches on Thursday, beating Phillips 5-2.

The Dons won all five of the other matches in straight sets, two that included tiebreakers.

MJ Kim beat Ben Nowak at No. 2 singles 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), and the Dons’ No. 2 doubles team of Michael Schneider and Luke Viegut knocked off Riley Langfoss and Andrew Slade 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.

Lucas Michalik continued his strong early-season play with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Tyler Sessions at No. 3 singles.

The Dons return to action Monday at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption.
