Marshfield boys soccer whips Wausau East, extends win streak to four

WAUSAU – The Marshfield boys soccer team won its fourth game in a row with a 5-2 victory at Wausau East on Tuesday.

Wausau East struck first when Nikhiel Biswas scored just 32 seconds into the game, but the Tigers recovered quickly and never looked back.

Hunter McManus scored in the 14th minute and Luke McCann added another goal before halftime to put Marshfield on top for good.

Leo Steiner, Gabe Carlson and Alec Hinson each scored in the second half to help the Tigers build a 5-1 lead.

McCann, Ethan Leischow, Kaylob Croston and Carlson each had assists for the Tigers, and goalkeeper Mathias Holm had 12 saves.

Marshfield is now 5-4-2 and 4-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, while East drops to 3-6-1 and 1-5 in the conference.

The Tigers play at Wausau West on Thursday.
