UW-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball improves to 6-1 with tight home win over UW-Richland

MARSHFIELD – Hayley Bunnell scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team to a narrow 51-49 victory over UW-Richland on Wednesday night at the Marauder Gym.

Karly Bump added 13 points and Katelyn Meacham had 11 points, including two of the three 3-pointers made by the Marauders (6-1).

The Marauders shot just 32 percent (18 of 55) and committed 12 turnovers, but Richland (3-2) only scored five points off of those turnovers and Marshfield had 22 offensive rebounds and held a 40-34 advantage on the boards.

The Marauders women have a week off before host UW-Marinette next Wednesday.
