Auburndale baseball wins second straight

ABBOTSFORD – A seven-run second inning propelled the Auburndale baseball team to a 16-6 win over Abbotsford in a Marawood Conference North-South crossover game Thursday.

Jake Schar was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, Jesse Brokish had two hits and four RBIs and Tony Altmann had a single, a triple and knocked in three runs for the Apaches (4-17), who won for the second straight time after a 14-game losing streak.

Troy Kollross and Kyle Willfahrt also knocked in two runs each for Auburndale, which plays Edgar in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal Thursday at Edgar.
