Marshfield boys soccer forces tie at Ashwaubenon

ASHWAUBENON – Luke McCann scored with a little less than 15 minutes remaining to push the Marshfield boys soccer team to a 2-2 tie with Ashwaubenon in a nonconference game Saturday.

Collin Nikolai scored Marshfield’s first goal in the 41st minute before Ashwaubenon tied the game just 2:21 later.

The Jaguars (9-2-1) scored in the opening minute of the second half to take a 2-1 lead, which held until McCann’s late goal.

Jared Klein and Matt Pahl combined for seven saves in goal for the Tigers (4-5-1), who outshot Ashwaubenon 22-10, including 14-9 on goal, and held a 14-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Tigers return to Wisconsin Valley Conference action Tuesday at home against Wausau East. The game will start at 5 p.m. at Griese Park.
