Anderson pours in 36 as Marshfield boys basketball team wins at Merrill

MERRILL – The Marshfield boys basketball team ended a mini two-game losing streak with a 77-70 win over Merrill on Tuesday night at Merrill High School.

Senior Seth Anderson scored a career-high 36 points for Marshfield, which pulls into a tie for second place with Merrill at 6-3 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference and improves to 8-8 overall.

Anderson made four 3-pointers and all 10 of his free throw attempts on his way to his 30-point game of the season.

Isaac Meverden added 19 points, going a perfect 7-for-7 on free throws, and Brant Bohman scored 14 points for Marshfield, which raced out to a 46-28 lead by halftime.

The Tigers made nine 3-pointers and were 24 of 28 at the free throw line in the victory.

Marshfield hosts D.C. Everest on Friday.
