Marshfield girls basketball edges Merrill

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team crawled a bit closer to the .500 mark with a hard-fought 49-46 victory over Merrill in a Wisconsin Valley Conference contest Tuesday night at Marshfield High School.

Katie Osinski had 12 points and Meg Bryan added 11 for the Tigers, who are now 8-9 overall and 4-5 in the WVC after completing the season sweep of Merrill (10-8, 3-7 WVC).

Maddie Michaelis chipped in nine points, and Hannah Meverden had eight points and nine rebounds for Marshfield.

The Tigers play at first-place D.C. Everest on Friday.
