EDGAR – The Stratford wrestling team won eight matches by forfeit and four others by pin to defeat Edgar 75-6 in its final Marawood Conference dual meet of the season Thursday night at Edgar High School.

With the win the Tigers finish the dual meet season with a perfect 6-0 record and will go for their seventh-straight overall Marawood Conference title at the conference tournament Saturday at Chequamegon High School in Park Falls.

Of the six contested matches, Stratford won five. Max Schwabe (138 pounds), Konner Stuttgen (145), Jake Heiden (152) and Trevor Dennee (182) won by pin, and Beau Gross earned a 7-3 win at 195 pounds over Austin Miller for the Tigers’ other win.

“I was very pleased with the kids that got matches tonight and how they performed,” Stratford coach Joe Schwabe said. “Our entire team practices hard and prepares well. We have the conference tournament Saturday in Park Falls that will be a good measuring stick going into the regionals that follows two weeks later at a very tough host in Cadott.”

Edgar’s lone win came from Ethan Heil, who earned a first-period pin at 220 pounds.
