ANTIGO – The Marshfield gymnastics team remains undefeated this season after a record-setting day on Saturday and another win Tuesday.
Marshfield set a new school record with 139.025 points, and Gracie Holland won the all-around title with a new school record score of 37.75, as the Tigers won the Antigo Gymnastics Invitational at Antigo High School on Saturday.
The Tigers followed that up with a team victory at the Tomah Quad on Tuesday.
Marshfield has won every dual meet and invitational it has participated in this season.
On Saturday, Holland won all four events to clinch the all-around title. She won the balance beam with a 9.45, the floor exercise with a 9.55, the vault with a 9.6 and the uneven bars with a 9.15.
Jade Scholl finished second in the beam (8.85), Sophie Nikolay tied for fourth in the vault (8.85) and Hanna Merkel had seventh-place finished in the beam (8.25) and uneven bars (8.0) for Marshfield.
Nikolay also was seventh in the floor (8.75), and Alexis Mushel and Kim Backaus tied for seventh in the vault (8.75) for Marshfield.
Marshfield won the Tomah Quad with a score of 130.425, well ahead of second-place Tomah, which had a score of 105.375.
Marshfield won three of the four events. Holland won the uneven bars (9.45); Nikolay, Kyra Huff and Backaus tied for first in the vault (8.25), and Scholl won the balance beam (8.4).
Phoebe Hernandez was second in the floor (8.4) and the balance beam (8.15), and Vivian Nikolai was second in the uneven bars (8.3) for the Tigers.
Marshfield will its annual home invitational on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Antigo, Milton, Mosinee, Rhinelander, Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton, and Waupun will provide the competition.
