Marshfield boys basketball finish off regular season with win at Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield boys basketball team won for the fourth time in its last five games and finished off a season-sweep of Stevens Point, beating the Panthers 58-49 in the regular-season and Wisconsin Valley Conference finale for both teams on Thursday night at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

Marshfield shot an efficient 55 percent from the field (18 of 33) and were 8-for-14 from 3-point range in the win.

Anthony Posteluk had 14 points and eight rebounds, Addison Hill scored 13 points, and Joey Goettl chipped in 11 points for the Tigers, who finish the regular season with a 14-8 record and a 9-3 mark in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

Nate Streveler had 10 points for Stevens Point (13-9, 8-4 WVC).

The two teams will meet up again next week in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal at Marshfield High School on Friday, March 6.
