Auburndale girls basketball drops opening game of home tournament to Neillsville

AUBURNDALE – Emma Moseley scored 11 of her team-high 14 points in the second half to lead Neillsville to a 55-43 win over Auburndale in the opening round of the Auburndale Holiday Girls Basketball Tournament on Monday afternoon at Auburndale High School.

Neillsville held a slim 19-18 lead at halftime before outscoring Auburndale by 11 in the second half to pull away.

Amelia Trunkel added 11 points and Bella Opelt scored 10 for the Warriors, who remain undefeated at 9-0 this season.

Annamarie Aue scored 13 points to lead Auburndale (6-3).

Auburndale will play Mosinee in the consolation game at 12:30 p.m. and Neillsville will take on Wauwatosa West in the championship game at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Both games will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com/live-sports.
