Rhinelander starts quick, defeats Marshfield in nonconference boys hockey

RHINELANDER – Rhinelander scored three times in the opening 2½ minutes and held on to win a wild 8-5 boys hockey game over Marshfield on Wednesday at the Rhinelander Ice Arena.

Leo Losch, J.C. Adams and Harlan Wojtski scored in a one-minute span to give the Hodags a quick 3-0 lead, one they never relinquished.

Ian Haugen and Tristan Reissmann scored to bring Marshfield back to within one, before Rhinelander scored four of the next five goals to take a commanding lead.

Nick Urban, Ben Konrardy and Haugen added goals over the final two periods for Marshfield, which falls to 4-4.

Marshfield will be back in action Tuesday at home against Waupaca.
