Marshfield girls basketball pulls away in second half to beat Wausau East

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield used a 14-point advantage in the second half to pull away from Wausau East and win the Wisconsin Valley Conference girls basketball game 52-34 on Tuesday night at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers led 20-16 at halftime before using a 32-point second half to win by 18.

Maddie Michaelis had 14 points, Abby Ongna added 12 points and seven rebounds, and Madison Voss had eight points for Marshfield, which improves to 7-12 overall and 3-8 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

Abby Thompson had a game-high 20 points for Wausau East (0-11, 0-9 WVC).

Marshfield wraps up its regular-season schedule Thursday with a home game against Stevens Point. The game will start at 7:15 p.m. and will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com.
