Edgar baseball hands Stratford its first loss

STRATFORD – Edgar scored three unearned runs and slipped past Stratford 3-2 in a Marawood Conference South Division baseball game Thursday at the Tiger Stadium baseball field.

Edgar’s win knocks Stratford from the ranks of the unbeatens and creates a three-way tie atop the Marawood South standings.

Edgar (6-1 overall) and Stratford (7-1 overall) are tied with Auburndale at 3-1 in the Marawood South.

Austin Dahlke had two hits, Drew Guden scored twice and Jordan Bunkelman had an RBI in the win for Edgar.

Konnor Wolf picked up the win, allowing two runs and striking out two in five innings for Edgar.

Riley Bauman and Kale Weisenberger each had RBIs, and Colten Schillinger scored twice for Stratford.

Stratford hosts Athens and Edgar will be at home against Prentice in nonconference games Friday.
