Strong pitching pushes Waupaca Lakemen past Marshfield Chaparrals

MARSHFIELD – Jack Eagan and Adam Kennedy combined on for eight shutout innings as the Waupaca Lakemen defeated the Marshfield Chaparrals 9-2 in amateur baseball action Wednesday night at Jack Hackman Field.

Eagan struck out nine and allowed just one hit through four innings before giving way to Kennedy, who continued the dominance with four more shutout frames. The Chaparrals managed their only two runs on a double by Jake Earll in the bottom of the ninth.

Nathan Krommenakker had Marshfield’s only other hit.

Jake Pankratz went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Ryan McKuski, Brenden Canterbury and Zach Schafer each had two hits for Waupaca (11-4).

Marshfield (4-2) will play at Osseo on Friday and will host Interwald on Sunday at 7 p.m. All Chaparrals’ games this season can be seen live at zaleskisports.com.
