MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won five of the 11 events and placed third at its home Chase The Tiger Girls Swimming Invitational on Tuesday at Marshfield High School.
Merrill used its depth, and a pair of wins from Amber Winter (100 individual medley and 50 breaststroke) to take the team title with 239 points. Medford finished second with 191 points and Marshfield was third with 164.
Marshfield’s 200-yard medley relay team of Terra Risa, Faith Risa, Brooke Begotka and Skylar Onsager won in 1:56.11 in the invite’s opening race.
Marshfield added four more relay wins. The 100 freestyle relay team of Begotka, Lauren Olszewski, Faith Risa and Onsager finished first in 1:52.94; the 100 medley relay team of Onsager, Faith Risa, Terra Risa and Onsager won in 57.93 seconds; the 200 freestyle relay team of Keira Raab, Ella Allar, Lauren Olszewski and Terra Risa won in 1:52.94; and the 8×50 freestyle relay team of Terra Risa, Hannah LaPointe, Begotka, Allar, Olszewski, Raab, Faith Risa and Onsager was first in 3:42.66.
Marshfield will be off until Sept. 8 when it starts its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet schedule at Wisconsin Rapids.
