Stratford JV2 football knocks off Mosinee to stay undefeated

MOSINEE – The Stratford JV2 football team improved its record to 3-0 with a 22-6 victory over Mosinee last Thursday.

The Tigers had previously beaten Wisconsin Rapids 48-14 and Chippewa Falls 30-8.

After exchanging punts, the Tigers recorded the first score on a 38-yard pass from Brady Berg to Colton Breit.

In the second quarter, Berg found Mason Miller on a rollout pass 25-yards downfield for another score. Zander Zawislan caught the 2-point conversion for a 14-0 lead going into halftime for the Tigers.

Mosinee opened the second half with a great drive and found the end zone on an 8-yard run to close the gap to 14-6.

The Tigers quickly answered with a 77-yard pass play from Berg to Breit for another touchdown. Lucas Forrest caught the 2-point conversion to end the scoring for the night.

The defense was led by Brooks Vanderhoof and Jaeger Ormond. Zawislan had two interceptions and Cody Randow also had an interception for Stratford.

The Tigers travel to Eau Claire North on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 5 p.m.
