STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield Middle School girls tennis team wrapped up its season with a tournament format against St. Peter’s of Stevens Point and James Williams Middle School of Rhinelander on Thursday at Goerke Park.

Marshfield captured first place finishes in both the singles and doubles brackets along, with adding a second-place finish in doubles.

Lily Griesbach won the singles bracket for Marshfield with two 4-0 victories, a 4-3 win against teammate Audrey Luedtke, and a 6-4 win the championship match against a player from St. Peter’s.

The doubles team of Jasmine Buth and Edyn Vechinski won the doubles title, beating teammates Maddie Kundinger and Talia Soskos 6-4 in the championship match.

Overall, Marshfield defeated Rhinelander 8-5 and lost to St. Peter’s 6-3, finishing the conference season with a 10-3 record.
