Marshfield volleyball sweeps nonconference match at Stratford

STRATFORD – The Marshfield volleyball team swept Stratford in a nonconference match 3-0 on Thursday at Stratford High School.

Marshfield won 25-14, 25-16, 25-5, to improve to 28-3 overall this season.

Caitlyn Pernsteiner had 13 kills, Reinya Balderson had 30 assists, Grace Taylor had four service aces and Elise Uphoff had 12 digs to lead Marshfield in each category.

Abby Ongna added 10 kills and eight digs, Taylor added eight kills, Lauren Homolka had six kills and Rylee Corteen had four blocks for Marshfield.

Kalyn Schueller had eight kills and eight digs, Ava Weix had a team-best 11 digs, and setters Sonia Peterson, Sophia Meyer and Emerson Roy had seven, six and five assists, respectively.

Marshfield will compete at the second Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet of the season on Saturday at Wausau East.

Stratford will finish its regular season Tuesday at the Marawood Conference Crossover Challenge at Marathon High School.
