Stratford boys basketball crushes Greenwood in season debut

STRATFORD – The Stratford boys basketball team opened its 2022-23 season in grand fashion, blasting Greenwood 79-45 in a nonconference matchup Tuesday at Stratford High School.

The Tigers raced out to a 40-23 lead by halftime as they cruised to the home victory.

Ashton Wrensch scored 22 points and Drew Bruesewitz added 13 for Stratford, which shot 50 percent from the field (32-for-64).

All 11 Tigers that played scored, with eighth hitting one 3-pointer each.

Stratford will be back in action Friday with a Marawood Conference crossover game at Prentice.
