Mosinee blanks Stratford baseball in season opener

WISCONSIN DELLS – Mosinee scored multiple runs in each of the first four innings and went on to shut out Stratford 16-0 in a nonconference baseball game Monday at the Woodside Sports Complex.

Stratford led the second game of the scheduled doubleheader 3-2 after two innings before the game was called off due to darkness.

The game was the season opener for both teams.

Stratford was held to four hits in the loss, all singles.

Gavin Obremski, Garrett Shupe and Sawyer Holtz each had two hits for Mosinee, which finished with 10 hits and took advantage of seven Stratford walks.

Stratford’s next scheduled game is next Monday, April 10, at home against Wisconsin Rapids Assumption.
