MENASHA – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team suffered a tough 70-38 nonconference loss at UW-Fox Valley on Friday night.
Jake Scheppler scored 12 points and Trevor Gorman had 10 in the defeat, which drops the Marauders’ record to 4-4 overall. They stand at 3-1 in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference and return to WCC action Monday at UW-Marathon County in Wausau. UW-Marshfield also plays at Madison Area Tech on Wednesday before taking a month off for semester break.
Fox Valley had 23 offensive rebounds and were able to put up 29 more shots than the Marauders. The Cyclones also held Marshfield to 28.6 percent shooting (14 of 49), including 6 of 27 in the first half as they took a commanding 44-13 lead at the break.
