MARSHFIELD – Wisconsin Rapids used a pair of five-run innings and the pitching of Rhiannon Carroll to defeat Marshfield 11-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference softball game Thursday at Madison Field.

The Raiders broke open a 0-0 game with five runs in the top of the third inning and added five more in the fourth to run away with the victory and take over sole possession of first place in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, improving to 12-2 overall and 7-1 in the Valley.

Carroll struck out five, walked just one and allowed only three hits in the five-inning victory for Wisconsin Rapids. She also clocked a solo home run.

Bella Force drove in four runs and Sawyer Holberg had three RBI for the Raiders.

Marshfield (8-6, 4-5 WVC) has held to just three singles by Lydia Garvin, Lili Anaya and Taylar Weis.
