COLBY – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball team remained undefeated in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division with a dominating doubleheader sweep of Colby/Abbotsford on Thursday at Colby High School.
The Dons won 11-1 and 16-1 to improve to 9-2 overall and 5-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Columbus Catholic travels to first-place Neillsville (8-5, 8-0 Cloverbelt East) on Friday to the first of two matchups between the conference leaders. The two teams will play again next Thursday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
The Dons scored in all eight at-bats in the twinbill, pounding out 27 hits.
In the opener, Cierra Dieringer, Sam Casperson, Akousa Yeboah, Shelby Spata and Rhya Dieringer all had two hits, with Yeboah driving in three runs for the Dons.

Columbus Catholic needed just three innings to win the second game via the 15-run rule as it scored seven runs in each of the first two innings.
Katelyn Casperson had three hits and three RBI, Mattea Schalfke had three hits and drove in two, and Cierra Dieringer had two hits and four RBI for the Dons.
